I wonder why the name doesn't reflect the molasses flavor. How many stars would you give this recipe? It's amazing you were able to get a picture of the headstone. That alone tells a story.

I prefer a spicier gingerbread, to be honest. I would only give this recipe three stars out of five because it just didn't have the interesting composition of flavors that a good gingerbread should have. This was the era of gingerbread - it was a household staple for many households. So good versions abound and this one didn't really stand up.
